Koppula Eshwar challenges Minister Adluri Lakshman to debate on Congress corruption

Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS leader Koppula Eshwar challenged Minister Adluri Lakshman to an open debate on Congress corruption. He reached the Ambedkar statue on Tank Bund on Monday, asking the Minister to join him if he truly believed the Congress government was clean.

Eshwar arrived with BRS leader Putta Madhukar and several supporters. He said the Congress government must explain where public funds were going and how corruption had spread under its rule. “If the government is honest, let the debate happen here, before the people,” he said.

Eshwar and his supporters began raising slogans near the Ambedkar statue. They demanded that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet members answer questions about corruption. Soon, police teams arrived at the scene and asked the group to disperse.

When the protest continued, police detained Koppula Eshwar, Putta Madhukar, and other BRS workers. Officers took them to Saifabad Police Station for violating public gathering rules. They said the leaders had assembled without prior permission.

BRS leaders condemn police action, vow to continue protest

Party members condemned the police action, saying the Congress government feared open discussion. They alleged that the administration wanted to silence voices exposing corruption.

Eshwar said he would not withdraw his challenge. “We will keep questioning this government until it comes clean,” he declared. “People have a right to know how their money is being spent.”

He also said BRS leaders would continue their campaign across Telangana to expose Congress corruption and demand transparency from the ruling party.
