Hyderabad: BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Friday appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the ongoing phone tapping case. He gave his statement to investigators at the Jubilee Hills police station.
Speaking to the media after his deposition, Vishweshwar Reddy launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao. He demanded that both be punished and sent to jail for their alleged involvement in the illegal surveillance operation.
Reddy claimed he had been targeted with false cases in retaliation for previously raising the issue of phone tapping. He alleged that his phone had been tapped multiple times and said he had lodged complaints earlier.
He said the current investigation must be taken to its full conclusion and called for accountability. To prevent such violations from recurring, he said exemplary punishment must be imposed on those responsible, specifically naming KCR and KTR.
Vishweshwar Reddy also stated that he would raise the issue in Parliament and seek a national-level discussion. He suggested that the Centre should assist in uncovering the full extent of the surveillance operation if required.
