Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Monday conducted a surprise inspection at the Bandlaguda RTO office after purported cash-counting visuals went viral on social media. The Bandlaguda RTO inspection followed fresh allegations of corruption at the Hyderabad transport office.
The viral visuals purportedly showed cash being counted inside the chamber of a constable named Arun. However, the source did not establish who counted the cash or the circumstances surrounding the visuals.
Motorists had also raised complaints about their experiences at the RTO office. They alleged that officials required them to make repeated visits despite having all the necessary documents in order.
Following the circulation of the video, ACB personnel reached the Bandlaguda office and began checks. Officials reportedly questioned RTO personnel and conducted searches and other checks inside the office.

The Bandlaguda RTO inspection also came amid motorists’ allegations about repeated visits for official work. According to the complaints, motorists had submitted the required documents but still had to return to the office several times.
Meanwhile, the viral visuals prompted further activity at the RTO office. Officials initiated an inquiry after the video circulated widely on social media. ACB personnel reportedly continued questioning officials as part of their examination of the allegations.
In addition, they checked the office as they sought details connected with the viral visuals. The available information did not specify whether officials recovered any cash during the inspection.
