Komatireddy helps meritorious student continue higher education

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stepped in to help a meritorious student facing financial hardship after her appeal on social media highlighted difficulties in continuing her education.

Bhavitha, a student from Boduppal, scored 582 out of 600 marks in the SSC examinations and emerged as her school’s topper. She also secured State Rank 634 in POLYCET.

However, financial problems prevented her family from clearing pending school fee dues. As a result, the school withheld her certificates, creating uncertainty over her admission process.

With the deadline for POLYCET certificate verification approaching, Bhavitha posted a video on social media seeking help. She explained that she could not access the certificates required for higher studies despite her academic achievements.

The video reached Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday morning. He immediately directed his staff to verify the facts. He also contacted the school principal and asked for the student’s certificates to be brought to his residence.

Meritorious student receives financial assistance

During a meeting with Bhavitha, the minister learnt about her family’s financial difficulties. He also discussed her academic record and future plans.

Bhavitha told the minister that she planned to pursue a diploma course before studying engineering.

Impressed by her performance and determination, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy cleared the outstanding school fee dues of ₹60,000. He also facilitated the release of all her certificates.

In addition, the minister instructed his staff to ensure that she completed the POLYCET certificate verification process without delay.

To support her immediate educational expenses, he provided financial assistance of ₹20,000. He also assured her of continued support for higher studies.

Speaking on the occasion, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said talented students should not lose educational opportunities because of poverty. He urged society to support deserving students facing hardship.

An emotional Bhavitha and her family thanked the minister for his intervention. They said his support had enabled her to continue pursuing higher education.
