Hyderabad: Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy will visit Australia from October 25 to 30 to strengthen critical minerals cooperation between the two countries. The six-day visit will focus on mining investments, mineral processing, advanced technologies and securing supplies for India’s industrial and clean energy requirements.
Reddy will hold discussions with Australian government representatives, mining companies, research institutions and industry leaders in Sydney and Melbourne. The meetings will explore opportunities for joint research, mineral exploration, technology transfer and skill development.
Additionally, the Minister will seek investments in India’s domestic mining projects and cooperation across different stages of mineral production. The visit will also include participation in the International Mining and Resources Conference and Expo (IMARC) 2026.
Critical minerals cooperation to dominate Australia visit
The proposed discussions will focus on strengthening India’s access to critical mineral resources and expanding bilateral mining partnerships. Australia has substantial mineral resources and advanced mining capabilities, making it an important partner for India’s mineral sector.
Moreover, the visit will examine opportunities for cooperation in exploration, extraction, mineral processing and the production of value-added materials. The Minister will engage with industry representatives on investment opportunities and advanced mining technologies.
The discussions will also address India’s growing demand for minerals required by industrial development and clean energy projects. Reddy is scheduled to arrive in Sydney on October 25. On October 26, he will inaugurate the Sydney office of NMDC and review the company’s activities.
He will also participate in IMARC 2026, an international conference and exhibition focused on mining and mineral resources. During the conference, Reddy will deliver a keynote address on global opportunities in the mining sector.
His participation will provide a platform for discussions with mining companies, industry representatives and other stakeholders. The Minister’s engagements will also focus on expanding opportunities for Indian companies in mineral exploration and related activities.
Meeting with Australian Resources Minister on October 27
