KCR asserts BRS will return to power independently

HYDERABAD: Former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) made significant remarks emphasizing that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government had the distinction of implementing schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and Rythu Bandhu, even though they were not part of the manifesto. In contrast, he criticized the current Congress government for not fulfilling its promises. These comments were made during the conclusion of the “Godavari Kanneeti Gosa” padayatra, a 180-kilometer march from Ramagundam to Erravalli, led by former MLA Korukanti Chander, which reached KCR’s farmhouse on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, KCR recalled that Telangana was forcibly merged with Andhra Pradesh by Indira Gandhi, terming it a betrayal. He noted that without alliances, Chandrababu Naidu wouldn’t have won in Andhra Pradesh. KCR urged everyone to fight for Telangana’s rights with the same fervor he exhibited during the state’s formation movement.

He expressed concern that the state is currently entangled in various problems, contrasting it with the relatively problem-free decade under BRS rule. KCR confidently stated that in the upcoming Assembly elections, BRS would come to power independently. He highlighted that the BRS party has consistently fought for Telangana’s interests, even challenging Prime Minister Modi when necessary. KCR warned that like flies attracted to jaggery, some are eager to exploit Telangana’s wealth. He criticized the current Ramagundam MLA as a worthless person.

The event saw the participation of former minister Koppula Eshwar, former MLAs Jeevan Reddy, Putta Madhu, Vanteru Pratap Reddy, and Madasu Srinivas, among others.
