Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha staged a protest near the Secretariat demanding immediate action over the grain purchase issue in the state.
Kavitha and party workers demanded that officials stop deducting excess weight during procurement and ensure justice to farmers.
The protesters raised slogans near the Secretariat and intensified their agitation over delays in grain purchases.

Police intervened after Kavitha and Telangana Rakshana Sena workers staged a dharna at the protest site.
Officials took Kavitha and several party leaders and activists into custody and shifted them from the area.
Meanwhile, Kavitha recently announced her new political outfit under the TRS name after her suspension from the BRS.
Since launching the party, she has been actively organising protests and media interactions on public issues.
Political observers noted that she was trying to strengthen her public presence through regular protest programmes.
Against this backdrop, Kavitha launched the latest protest in support of farmers affected by procurement delays across Telangana.
