Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena president K. Kavitha said the High Court HYDRAA order directing the State government to remove HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath exposed what she described as the government’s authoritarian functioning.
In a post on X, Kavitha called the High Court’s direction a setback for the State government. She alleged that officials had demolished poor people’s houses indiscriminately in the name of removing illegal structures. Further, she said HYDRAA repeatedly ignored court orders.
Kavitha said the High Court had warned HYDRAA that it could face military action if officials continued to violate judicial directions. However, she claimed the agency did not change its approach. She urged the Revanth Reddy government to act transparently and avoid applying different standards to influential people and poor families.
High Court HYDRAA order draws Kavitha’s reaction
Kavitha referred to the private land dispute before the High Court. She said the court found that Ranganath had violated its orders. She added that the court also noted 63 contempt petitions pending against him before directing the government to take action.
Meanwhile, Kavitha recalled her recent dispute with HYDRAA. She alleged that the agency became a “menace” after Revanth Reddy assumed office.
She said she had protested against construction activity by a private company in the middle of the Musi river at Narsingi in Gandipet mandal. According to her, HYDRAA then tried to defame her and her supporters. She recalled warning Commissioner Ranganath that she would take the matter to court. Her latest remarks came after the High Court HYDRAA order directing the government to remove the Commissioner.
