Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao demanded HYDRAA abolition following the Telangana High Court’s direction to remove HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath. He alleged that the government had made the Commissioner a scapegoat instead of fixing responsibility for the controversy.
Ramchander Rao described the High Court’s observations on HYDRAA’s functioning as a setback for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Further, he alleged that the Chief Minister was the real person responsible for the case.
He said poor families would remain safe only if the government carried out HYDRAA abolition. Moreover, he alleged that the agency had functioned under the influence of the Chief Minister and the AIMIM.
HYDRAA abolition demand targets government
Ramchander Rao alleged that HYDRAA avoided taking action against influential individuals, including in the Fatima College issue, while targeting poor families. He claimed the agency had protected powerful people instead of acting against them.
Meanwhile, he accused HYDRAA of targeting only the houses of poor families from the beginning. However, he urged the Telangana government to open its eyes to the issue and dismantle the agency.
Ramchander Rao reiterated his demand for HYDRAA abolition, saying the government should immediately scrap the agency to ensure the safety of poor families’ homes.
