Kavitha accuses Santosh Rao of acting as ‘mole’, sidelining activists

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday made sharp allegations against former BRS MP Santosh Rao, accusing him of acting as a “mole” and distancing Telangana movement activists from former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Reacting to Santosh Rao being summoned by the SIT in the phone-tapping case, Kavitha alleged that he deliberately weakened the movement from within. She claimed that his actions kept several grassroots leaders away from KCR. As a result, she said, prominent activists had to wait outside Pragathi Bhavan without access.

Kavitha alleged that cultural icon Gaddar faced humiliation due to such interference. She said Santosh Rao was responsible for forcing committed activists to remain sidelined. She expressed anger over what she called systematic damage to the movement.

Kavitha reacts to SIT summons, raises doubts over punishment

Commenting on the phone-tapping probe, Kavitha said she had little confidence that Santosh Rao would face punishment. She said the SIT inquiry was ongoing, but added that accountability remained uncertain. According to her, only time would reveal the outcome.

Earlier in the day, Kavitha visited Excise Constable Soumya, who sustained injuries in an attack by ganja smugglers and is undergoing treatment. After the visit, she spoke to the media and renewed her criticism of Santosh Rao.

She alleged that Santosh Rao, described by her as a close associate of KCR, played a damaging role against movement supporters. Kavitha said activists who fought for Telangana deserved respect and access. She added that isolating them caused lasting harm to the movement’s spirit.
