Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla participated as the chief guest at the International Yoga Day Hyderabad countdown event held at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.
The programme took place under the leadership of Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and brought together public representatives, yoga practitioners and citizens. Addressing the gathering, the Governor described yoga as a holistic way of life that harmonises the body, mind and soul.
He urged citizens to make yoga a part of their daily routine and highlighted India’s contribution in sharing the ancient practice with the world.

Meanwhile, Shiv Pratap Shukla said yoga offers benefits that extend beyond physical fitness. He noted that regular practice helps promote overall well-being, balance and inner strength. Further, the Governor encouraged people to embrace yoga as a lifelong habit for better health and mental wellness.
Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu attended the event along with former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. Rajya Sabha members Dr K. Laxman and V. Vijayendra Prasad also participated in the programme.
Additionally, MP Eatala Rajender, BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao and BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy were present. Several public representatives, officials, yoga practitioners and citizens joined the celebrations at Parade Grounds.
