Indiramma housing completion targeted by next Dasara: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy district in-charge Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu announced Wednesday that all first-phase Indiramma houses would be completed and handed over to beneficiaries by next Dasara.

He said the government had set a one-year deadline for completing the sanctioned houses. He also assured beneficiaries that delays experienced under the previous government would not recur. The Minister made the announcement while attending a foundation-laying ceremony for houses sanctioned to 480 beneficiaries at Pocharam in Ghatkesar mandal.

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, MP Eatala Rajender, Medchal MLA Mallareddy and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy attended the programme. Sridhar Babu said the government had prioritised Indiramma housing completion to provide permanent homes to economically disadvantaged families.

Indiramma housing completion to include essential infrastructure

The Minister assured beneficiaries that the government would provide essential facilities at the Indiramma Towers within the prescribed deadline. These facilities included roads, drinking water arrangements and lifts.

He said the government intended to complete the housing projects without the prolonged delays witnessed during the previous administration. Furthermore, Sridhar Babu stated that eligible families would receive houses within their respective Assembly constituencies.

The arrangement aimed to help homeless families secure permanent accommodation in their existing areas. He also pointed out that the government was constructing the houses on highly valuable land.

According to the Minister, the land and housing units would provide beneficiaries with substantial assets. Sridhar Babu said the government had adopted a lottery-based system to select beneficiaries for the housing programme.

He maintained that the process eliminated human intervention and ensured transparency in the allocation of houses. The Minister stressed that eligible beneficiaries would receive houses through a fair selection process.

Meanwhile, he referred to welfare measures implemented after the Congress government assumed office. He said the administration had fulfilled its commitments by providing free electricity to households consuming up to 200 units monthly.

Additionally, the government had introduced the distribution of six kilograms of fine-quality rice per person to white ration cardholders. Sridhar Babu cited these initiatives while reiterating the government’s commitment to implementing its welfare promises.

He said Indiramma housing completion remained a priority, with the government working to hand over first-phase houses within the announced timeframe.
