Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Telangana aimed to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He announced the target while inaugurating the Samakhya-2026 conference at HITEX on Wednesday. The event focused on youth, industrial growth, future development plans and India’s economic progress.
Praising Samakhya for its work, Revanth Reddy stressed the need to familiarise young people with emerging business trends. He urged people to understand global changes and evolving laws. He also called on individuals to pursue higher goals and serve as examples for society.
The Chief Minister said young Indians were competing with Elon Musk in launching rockets into space. Referring to the national development agenda, he recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on 2047, the centenary of India’s Independence. Modi had set a goal for India to emerge as a leading nation by then.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana contributed a share of India’s gross domestic product that exceeded its proportion of the national population. He stressed that industrial expansion and fresh investment would help the state strengthen its economic contribution.
Telangana economy by 2047: Hyderabad aims to compete globally
Hyderabad has maintained a cosmopolitan culture for 400 years, according to Revanth Reddy. He said the city welcomed people from different states and countries. The government now wanted Hyderabad to compete with global centres such as Tokyo and Singapore.
The Chief Minister credited the Outer Ring Road with accelerating the city’s development. He added that the government was shifting industries located within the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) limits to other areas.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy said Prime Minister Modi had assured support for the Regional Ring Road project. The state government was encouraging industries to establish units within the Peripheral Region Economy (PURE) area. It had also divided Telangana into three regions to guide development and attract investment.
Revanth Reddy invited industrialists to invest in the state. He reiterated the government’s ambition to achieve the $3 trillion economic target by 2047.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the contributions of members of the Kapu community. Many had risen to prominent positions in politics and the senior bureaucracy, he said. He urged leaders to share their achievements with young people as examples to follow.
Finally, Revanth Reddy called on political parties to restrict election-related political debate to election periods. During the rest of the time, he said, people should work together across party lines to support national development.
