Hyderabad: A bus fire in Hyderabad triggered panic on Friday night after flames engulfed a private travel bus near KPHB.
The AC sleeper bus, operated by Sri Durga Maheshwari Travels, was travelling from Miyapur to Palakollu. As it reached Padmavathi Plaza bus stop, smoke started emerging from the driver’s cabin.
The driver and cleaner noticed the smoke and acted quickly. They stopped the vehicle and evacuated all 18 passengers safely.

Soon after, flames spread rapidly, gutting the entire bus. However, all passengers escaped without injuries due to the timely response.
Police reached the spot and launched relief measures. Meanwhile, fire personnel controlled the flames and prevented further damage.
The incident caused heavy traffic congestion near the JNTU Metro Station. Police diverted vehicles to alternative routes to ease the situation.
Officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the fire. However, they suspect an electrical short circuit or a fault in the AC unit.
Forensic teams will examine the vehicle to determine the cause of the bus fire.
