HMDA earns Rs.261 crore through LRS fee payments

Hyderabad: The Telangana government intensified efforts to clear pending LRS applications, helping HMDA LRS revenue reach Rs.261 crore through fee collections from applicants.

As part of the initiative, the government announced a 25 percent rebate for applicants who paid fees between July 1 and July 31. Officials said special focus was placed on resolving LRS applications within the limits of HMDA, GHMC, CMC and MMC.

The government also set up special help desks in the three municipal corporations to speed up the process. Moreover, authorities decided to implement dedicated measures in HMDA limits for quicker disposal of applications.

Officials said 85,954 applicants had paid fees in HMDA limits so far, generating revenue of Rs.261.72 crore.

HMDA LRS revenue rises amid application clearances

According to officials, HMDA received a total of 2,90,369 LRS applications.

Among them, fee intimations were issued for 2,01,453 applications. However, authorities did not issue fee intimations for another 54,021 applications because of various reasons.

Out of those who received fee intimations, 85,954 applicants completed payments. Meanwhile, nearly 1.50 lakh applicants were yet to pay the required fee.

Officials approved only 33,096 applications submitted under the scheme after fee payments were completed.

At the same time, authorities rejected 1,850 applications. Another 34,183 applications remained pending with applicants, while 30,656 applications were still under official scrutiny.

The state government directed officials to ensure faster disposal of pending applications and improve monitoring across urban development bodies.
