Hyderabad: Gopalapuram police carried out a 17 kg ganja seizure in Secunderabad and apprehended two individuals, including one adult accused, during a special operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
Police said the operation took place on June 14 at a lodge in Secunderabad. Officers recovered 17 kilograms of ganja and seized two mobile phones allegedly used for communication related to the illegal activity. A case was registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

According to police, officers received credible information about the presence of contraband at around 3 p.m. on June 14. Acting swiftly, a police team coordinated with the Clues Team and independent witnesses to conduct a search operation.
During the raid at a lodge, officers detained the suspects and examined their luggage. As a result, police recovered 13 packets of ganja weighing a total of 17 kilograms. The 17 kg ganja seizure was recorded under a case registered at Gopalapuram Police Station.

During questioning, the accused allegedly revealed that they were transporting the contraband for financial gain. Police said the ganja was reportedly being moved from Sambalpur in Odisha to Pune in Maharashtra through Hyderabad. Investigators suspect the involvement of additional persons in the operation.
Furthermore, police identified an alleged supplier who remains absconding. The 17 kg ganja seizure has prompted investigators to expand the probe and trace other members of the network.

Police seized two mobile phones believed to have been used for coordinating the transport of the narcotic substance. Officials are analysing the devices as part of the ongoing investigation. Senior officers supervised the operation, while special teams carried out the raid and subsequent arrests.
