Prime accused arrested in Gandipet land scam from Tamil Nadu

Hyderabad: Police arrested the prime accused in the Gandipet land scam on Friday, marking a major breakthrough in the investigation into the alleged encroachment of government land in Gandipet Mandal.

Narsingi Police and the Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) jointly arrested Bolla Brahmanaidu from Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.

According to investigators, Brahmanaidu played a central role in a conspiracy to illegally occupy nearly 10 acres of government land in Survey No. 18 of Gandipet Mandal.

Gandipet land scam investigation gathers pace

Police alleged that the accused used forged Government Orders, fabricated revenue records and fake permissions as part of the conspiracy.

Investigators said the forged documents were allegedly created to facilitate illegal occupation of valuable government land.

Furthermore, officials uncovered financial transactions worth nearly Rs 12 crore linked to the alleged operation.

According to the investigation, the transactions included payments made to members of the Nimmala family, accused Radhakrishna and other associates connected to the case.

The Telangana High Court had earlier rejected Brahmanaidu’s anticipatory bail petition. Consequently, police intensified efforts to trace and apprehend him.

Gandipet land scam probe focuses on financial trail

Following his arrest, authorities initiated further legal proceedings and continued their investigation into the alleged land-grab network.

Police are producing the accused before the court for judicial proceedings.

Meanwhile, investigators are examining the financial trail and verifying the involvement of other individuals linked to the case.

Officials said the probe remains active and additional arrests could follow if evidence establishes the involvement of more suspects.

The investigation is focusing on the alleged forgery of official documents, financial transactions and the wider network connected to the Gandipet land scam.
