Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender warned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over the Section 22-A land issue on Saturday.
Rajender said Revanth Reddy could face the political fate of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
He issued the warning during a BJP protest near Indira Park. The demonstration opposed the inclusion of properties in the prohibited list.
Rajender alleged that the government was affecting the properties of poor and weaker sections. He questioned the legal basis for placing their lands under Section 22-A restrictions.
He also criticised HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath. Rajender alleged that enforcement drives had displaced poor residents.
The BJP MP questioned Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy over private properties included under Section 22-A.
He demanded that the government explain the reasons for imposing such restrictions.
Section 22-A land issue affects Malkajgiri residents
Rajender said residents of his Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency had suffered severely because of the restrictions.
He added that several affected residents had voluntarily joined the BJP protest.
The protesters used the gathering to raise their grievances over property restrictions.
Rajender alleged that the government had deprived poor residents of their properties. He also questioned the authorities over the legal grounds for such action.
The BJP MP further appealed to IAS and IPS officers to avoid implementing what he called the government’s “illegal orders”.
He warned that the BJP would continue its agitation until the affected people received justice.
Rajender’s remarks came during the BJP’s protest against properties placed on the prohibited list under Section 22-A.
The Section 22-A land issue remained the central focus of the demonstration near Indira Park.
