Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender has demanded that the Telangana government constitute a ministerial sub-committee to resolve the longstanding grievances of outsourcing employees, similar to those formed for regular employees.
Addressing a gathering at Indira Park during the Telangana Outsourcing Employees’ Maha Dharna on Friday, Rajender stressed that outsourcing staff are essential to the functioning of several government departments and must be treated on par with permanent employees in terms of salary and job security.
He called for salaries of outsourcing workers to be disbursed in the first week of every month, and for contract renewals to be automatic. “Without them, many departments would cease to function,” he said.
Rajender opposed the imposition of GST on service sector jobs, calling it unjust for government service providers. He committed to raising the issue with the central government and advocated scrapping GST on outsourcing agencies that serve public institutions.
He also reiterated a past proposal he made as Finance Minister to abolish the outsourcing agency system and integrate workers into the government payroll directly. He said employees are demanding EPF, PF, and health card coverage, and the government must respond.
Rajender pledged cross-party support to end discriminatory taxation and ensure fair treatment of outsourcing staff, urging the state to act swiftly.
