District-level Praja Palana meetings to be held on May 22

Hyderabad: The Telangana government directed officials to organise district-level Praja Palana meetings across the state on May 22 under the Praja Palana-Pragathi Pranalika programme.

The government issued orders for conducting the meetings in all district headquarters. Earlier, it launched the 99-day action plan on March 6 and plans to continue the programme till June 12.

Officials will organise the Praja Palana meetings under the supervision of district collectors. Ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs and local public representatives will participate in the conferences.

The government asked officials to explain the Chief Minister’s message and details of welfare and development programmes taken up under the 99-day action plan.

Praja Palana meetings to highlight welfare schemes

Officials will create awareness about major welfare schemes implemented by the government. These include Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma houses and Gruha Jyothi free electricity scheme.

The meetings will also focus on subsidised LPG cylinders for women and free bus travel under the Mahalakshmi scheme. Officials will explain fine rice distribution through ration shops, Cheyutha pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes.

Further, authorities will explain interest-free loans for women self-help groups, new ration cards and Indiramma sarees. They will also highlight development works taken up with MPP and ZPP funds.

The government also asked departments to explain upcoming schemes. These include Indiramma family life insurance for all families and free breakfast and mid-day meal schemes for Intermediate students.

Officials will also discuss motorised vehicles for differently-abled Intermediate students. In addition, they will create awareness about crop diversification and organic farming methods.

The government instructed department heads to follow standard operating procedures for smooth conduct of the district-level conferences.
