Hyderabad: Diksha Divas celebrations gained momentum across Telangana on Saturday as BRS leaders marked the occasion with rallies, tributes and local gatherings. Moreover, cadres turned out in large numbers at several district centres, giving the programmes a strong presence.
In Siddipet, Harish Rao offered floral tributes at the Ambedkar statue and later led a bike rally through the town. MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, MLC Deshapati Srinivas and Yadava Reddy joined the programme, and they interacted with participants throughout the event.
Diksha Divas celebrations draw participation in Khammam and Sangareddy
The Diksha Divas celebrations continued in Khammam as MLC T Madhu joined MLAs Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Chandravathi to honour Telangana Thalli. Additionally, the leaders highlighted the significance of the day and urged cadres to preserve the spirit of the movement.
Sangareddy also witnessed strong participation. District BRS president and MLA Chinta Prabhakar, along with Deviprasad and other local leaders, paid tributes to Telangana martyrs. They stated that the sacrifices made during the agitation still guide party workers and reinforce their commitment.
Hyderabad witnesses strong turnout for Diksha Divas celebrations
The Diksha Divas celebrations drew a heavy turnout in Hyderabad as BRS workers gathered at Telangana Bhavan. At Osmania University, the BRS student wing organised a rally, and they addressed students on the relevance of the day.
In Kukatpally, former MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao led the event and spoke to party cadres. He said Telangana emerged because of KCR’s agitation, and furthermore added that the former chief minister remained ready to risk everything during the statehood struggle. He also credited KCR with shaping the state’s development path after formation.
