Hyderabad: Cyberabad Traffic Police registered 327 cases during special weekend drunk driving enforcement across the commissionerate and urged motorists not to drive after consuming alcohol.
Police said two-wheeler riders accounted for the highest number of violations. Of the total cases, officers booked 255 two-wheeler riders, 55 car drivers, 13 auto-rickshaw drivers and four heavy vehicle drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The department warned that a single irresponsible decision could endanger several lives. It appealed to motorists to avoid driving after drinking and to choose safer alternatives to protect themselves and others on the road.

Additionally, the enforcement drive covered different categories of vehicles as part of the weekend special checks. Traffic police said they would continue strict action against drunk driving to improve road safety and reduce accidents.
The department also urged people to act responsibly and avoid putting their families and other road users at risk. It reiterated its message that road safety begins with responsible driving.
