Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday hailed the landslide win of Congress-supported candidates in the first phase of the 2025 Panchayat Elections, calling it a clear reflection of public trust in the party’s governance.
Speaking after the results, Goud said Congress-backed candidates had secured over 90% of the sarpanch posts. He described the outcome as a resounding endorsement of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s two-year leadership focused on grassroots development and welfare.
TPCC chief says rural mandate validates Congress model
Goud noted that the party had treated the local body elections as a matter of prestige. Strategic coordination with ministers, MPs, MLAs, and village-level leaders contributed to the decisive victory. He credited the party’s deep rural engagement and focus on real-time problem-solving for the strong mandate.
He said the Congress government’s welfare model had received support across social groups, including minorities, Dalits, Adivasis, women, farmers, and youth. “People endorsed our slogan of welfare, social justice, and development,” Goud stated.
He added that the sweeping mandate increases the responsibility of the Congress government to deliver on its promises. The administration, he said, will work with renewed focus to empower the Panchayati Raj system and transform villages into hubs of inclusive growth.
