Hyderabad: The Congress disciplinary committee will meet on August 10 at Gandhi Bhavan under the chairmanship of Mallu Ravi to review complaints against party leaders and elected representatives. The panel will submit its report to the party high command, which will decide on action. The committee was formed to initiate disciplinary measures against senior leaders and public representatives who defied limits set by the party leadership.
Recent incidents have triggered the review. MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy recently made indirect but sharp criticisms of the Congress leadership and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. A few days earlier, Minister Konda Surekha made controversial remarks in Warangal. Party leaders also brought to the leadership’s notice certain allegations against her husband. Complaints have additionally accused some leaders of making charges against the government.
