Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao accused the Congress of deceiving Backward Classes (BCs) in the name of reservations. He declared that the BJP was prepared for elections in Telangana and confident of victory in the Jubilee Hills byelection.
BJP reviews Jubilee Hills byelection strategy
A key strategy meeting on the Jubilee Hills byelection took place on Friday at the BJP state office in Hyderabad. Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Laxman, Abhay Patil, Chandrasekhar Tiwari, MPs, MLCs, and district leaders attended the discussion. Participants reviewed candidate selection, campaign planning, and booth-level coordination.
During the meeting, N Ramchander Rao expressed full faith in the people and asserted that the BJP would secure the seat.
Rao targets Congress and BRS over civic failures
The BJP chief accused both the BRS and Congress of exploiting citizens under the banner of “Vishwanagaram.” He said Hyderabad’s civic system had collapsed to the extent that a single spell of rain endangered lives. According to him, “Congress and BRS share the same political DNA.”
Rao questioned the allocation of burial grounds for Muslims within Hindu colonies in Erragadda. He also alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government had demolished several Hindu temples. The situation, he said, had left Hindus in the city feeling unsafe.
BJP to step up ground campaign in Jubilee Hills
To strengthen outreach, Rao directed BJP cadres to begin ground-level campaigning in Jubilee Hills from Saturday. He urged every worker to contribute to victory. Both the Congress and BRS, he said, had betrayed the BC community, while the BJP alone had stood for their welfare. He added that the public now recognized which party genuinely fought for BC rights.
BJP vows change in Hyderabad’s political direction
The BJP leader recalled that BRS leaders had once promised to transform Hyderabad into a “global city,” yet took no meaningful steps toward that goal. He reminded that Congress too had made grand promises before coming to power but ignored civic safety afterward. Fatal incidents involving manholes and fires, he noted, still occurred frequently.
Rao accused both parties of focusing on vote-bank politics instead of public welfare. He condemned the allotment of burial lands in Erragadda while temples were being razed in Jubilee Hills.
The BJP, he announced, would finalize its candidate within three days. Rao urged party workers to dedicate their win to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He appealed to voters to back the BJP to bring political change and reject what he described as the “secret understanding” between the Congress and BRS.
