Hyderabad: Rajanna Sircilla District Collector Garima Agrawal participated in an Aksharabhyasam programme at an Anganwadi Centre in Ashireddypalli village of Chandurthi mandal on Friday and encouraged parents to enrol their children in government educational institutions.
The Collector performed Aksharabhyasam for young children as part of the government’s “Badi Bata” enrolment drive.
She also distributed uniforms to the children during the programme.
Earlier, Garima Agrawal reopened the Primary School at Gollapalli.
The school had remained closed for the past two years.
Officials reopened it after increasing student admissions.
Aksharabhyasam programme highlights importance of early education
Addressing parents and students, the Collector said the government provides quality education in its schools.
She highlighted facilities such as free textbooks, notebooks and nutritious mid-day meals.
Further, she urged parents to make use of these benefits and enrol their children in nearby government schools.
Later, Garima Agrawal visited the Pre-Primary School at Kishtampet.
She inspected educational toys and play equipment available for students.
The Collector also reviewed admission figures and discussed enrolment for the current academic year with officials.
Meanwhile, she stressed the importance of pre-primary education in a child’s development.
She said pre-primary learning combines education with play-based activities.
Additionally, she advised parents to reduce children’s screen time and encourage them to spend more time on studies and outdoor activities.
