Batikepalli motorcycle accident kills young migrant worker, injures two

Hyderabad: A Batikepalli motorcycle accident killed a young migrant worker and injured two others near the village’s old bridge around midnight.

Police identified the deceased as Hemanth, son of Isukadinnela Srinivas from Nellore district. Srinivas had migrated with his family to Rangadhamunipalli village in Gollapalli mandal for employment.

The family earned a living through construction work. Hemanth also worked with labourers at local work sites.

Batikepalli motorcycle accident occurred after work

Sub-Inspector Kiran Kumar said Hemanth and two other workers were returning after completing their daily work. They were travelling together on a motorcycle. However, the rider lost control near the old bridge at Batikepalli. The motorcycle then fell on the road.

Hemanth suffered a severe head injury in the crash. As a result, he died at the spot. Meanwhile, the two other workers suffered injuries. One worker sustained a leg fracture, while the other suffered a head injury.

Police and local residents shifted both injured workers to a hospital. According to the sub-inspector, their condition remained stable after treatment. Hemanth’s father, Srinivas, filed a complaint with the police. Subsequently, officers registered a case and began an investigation into the accident.

Police started examining the circumstances that caused the motorcycle to lose control near the bridge. The family had moved from Nellore district to Gollapalli mandal in search of work. Therefore, Hemanth’s death caused grief among residents of the village.

Local people expressed sorrow over the death of the young worker. They said the family had migrated to the area only to earn a livelihood.
