Hyderabad: A Puppalaguda water tanker accident claimed the life of a 28-year-old worker and left another seriously injured near the Puppalaguda toll gate under the Narsingi Police Station limits.
According to Inspector Vishnuvardhan Reddy, the deceased was identified as Sushil Kumar, a native of Banda district in Uttar Pradesh. He was living in Lakshmiguda, Katedan, and worked as a carpenter.

Sushil Kumar and his colleague, Suresh, had finished work at Hafeezpet on Tuesday night. They were returning home on a Honda Shine motorcycle when a speeding water tanker hit the bike from behind near the Puppalaguda toll gate.
Sushil Kumar, who was riding pillion, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, Suresh, who was riding the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
After hitting the motorcycle, the tanker went out of control. It also collided with a car and a scooter before coming to a halt. Police registered a case against the water tanker driver, Ranjit Sinha, on Wednesday. Officers launched an investigation into the accident.
The body of Sushil Kumar was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The Puppalaguda water tanker accident is under investigation, and police are examining the circumstances that led to the crash.
