Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to lead a Kodangal protest on Wednesday against the Centre over the treatment of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi by police in Delhi.
The Chief Minister will participate in a protest programme at Ambedkar Chowrasta in Kodangal. The demonstration is being organised to condemn the Centre’s stand over the Delhi incident.
Kodangal protest to target Centre’s actions
After visiting the Hakimpet Education Hub and reviewing official programmes, Revanth Reddy reached Kodangal on Tuesday night. He stayed at his residence ahead of the protest. The Chief Minister is scheduled to reach Ambedkar Chowrasta at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, he is expected to address the gathering and criticise the Centre’s approach during the protest.
Police strengthened security arrangements across Kodangal ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit. Meanwhile, local Congress leaders accelerated preparations for the demonstration. The party expects Congress representatives, workers and supporters from across the constituency to attend the programme in large numbers.
The Kodangal protest has drawn political attention across the state. Congress leaders have appealed to party workers and the public to participate in the demonstration.
