CMC inspection awards 94% hygiene rating to 10 Pounder Pizzeteria

Hyderabad: 10 Pounder Pizzeteria secured a hygiene rating of 94 per cent during a food safety inspection carried out by Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) teams at its outlet near SMR Vinay Technopolis.

The inspection formed part of the civic body’s ongoing food safety monitoring programme across Cyberabad. Officials found that the restaurant maintained several key hygiene and food safety practices during the inspection conducted on June 17.

Inspectors observed food handlers wearing hairnets and aprons while preparing and serving food. They also found proper segregation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. The team verified the medical fitness certificates of food handlers and reported no signs of pest infestation inside the establishment.

Officials further noted that the restaurant sanitised utensils using hot water and stored raw materials with proper labelling and wrapping. The inspection team said these practices reflected a high level of compliance with prescribed food safety standards.

However, inspectors identified a few minor issues that required attention. They noticed dust and cobwebs on certain internal fittings. The team also recommended better cleaning and maintenance of the lower section of a freezer.

Following the inspection, officials instructed the management to carry out immediate housekeeping improvements. They also directed the restaurant to continue regular cleaning schedules and maintain existing food safety practices.

The establishment scored 99 out of 106 points in the hygiene assessment, translating to 94 per cent. Under CMC guidelines, any establishment scoring above 90 per cent falls under the good category.

CMC officials communicated the minor observations to the management for corrective action. The civic body said it will continue inspections across Cyberabad to strengthen food safety compliance and safeguard public health.
