CM Revanth Accused of Undermining Law via Commissions: BRS MLC Sravan

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday. He accused him of bypassing legal norms and running the Telangana government through commissions and political pressure. This attack highlighted how CM Revanth was accused by BRS Sravan specifically.

CM Revanth accused by BRS Sravan of bypassing law with commissions

Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sravan alleged that the Congress-led administration had turned into a hub of arbitrary decisions and corruption. He cited the film ticket pricing controversy. According to him, permissions under the Cinematography Act, 1955 fall within the jurisdiction of the District Collector. However, the government was issuing GOs through the Home Department under pressure from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). This was violating legal procedures.

Sravan criticised the government’s handling of film ticket prices. He called it discriminatory and cited a stay granted by the High Court in the case of actor Prabhas’ film “Raja Saab.” He accused the state of applying different rules to different film actors. It appeared that the CM Revanth accused by BRS Sravan may have influenced these questionable decisions.

Defending senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao, Sravan said that raising legitimate concerns should not be met with “abusive rhetoric” by Congress leaders. He also alleged that Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy first claimed ignorance about ticket pricing but later changed his stand. This, he said, reflected internal inconsistencies.

He further accused the CM of reneging on his Assembly promise not to increase movie ticket prices. Sravan asked what had changed now. “Theatres are overcharging audiences while the CM and minister stay silent. Is even cinema now out of reach for the people with low-income?” Sravan asked, warning that the public would soon respond to these alleged misgovernances. Once again, CM Revanth accused by BRS Sravan was called out for these ignored promises.
