Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Dr G. Vivek Venkataswamy outlined a series of Chennur development projects and said his goal was to transform the constituency into a model area. He detailed ongoing works and proposed projects during a media conference at his Chennur camp office.
Vivek, who holds the Labour, Employment, Training, Factories, Mines and Geology portfolios, said the Congress government had focused on Chennur after taking office.
The government had taken up CC roads, side drains and road-widening works, he said. In addition, it had launched works for a drinking water scheme at a cost of ₹30 crore.
Vivek said the government had also allocated funds for junior and degree college buildings. He added that the administration was proceeding with a planned approach to develop Chennur as a model town.
Chennur development projects include Pushkaralu works
Vivek said the government was planning development works worth about ₹70 crore in connection with Pushkaralu. Additionally, plans included ₹6 crore for widening the road towards the Godavari in Ward 10. The government was also planning to spend ₹2 crore on developing the Pochamma temple.
Meanwhile, Vivek said plans worth ₹17 crore were under preparation for tourism development. The Minister also performed bhoomi puja for three community buildings in Chennur town. He said the projects together had received about ₹75 lakh.
Vivek said the government had sanctioned ₹100 crore for the Joduvagulu works. He credited follow-up efforts by MP Vamsi Krishna for securing the funds. The tender process was currently underway, he added.
Furthermore, Vivek said he was working to restart the bus depot project, which he described as a long-standing aspiration of Chennur residents. The government was also taking steps to open the 100-bed hospital building during September. According to Vivek, 23 doctors had already become available.
Road widening affected people to get shops
Vivek said the government would take steps to construct shops for people who lose their livelihoods because of road widening. He added that the administration would involve residents in the development process. Therefore, he said the projects would move forward with public participation.
The Minister also rejected what he described as false propaganda by opposition parties. He said people would not believe such claims. Vivek maintained that the government was pursuing public-oriented governance. Moreover, he said development that benefited people would serve as the government’s response to its critics.
He reiterated that the Chennur development projects covered several sectors across the constituency. Ultimately, Vivek said his goal was to develop Chennur in all fields and turn it into a model constituency.
