BJP demands judicial probe into Congress–BRS quid pro quo

Hyderabad: The BJP on Thursday demanded a judicial probe by a sitting High Court judge into what it alleged was a quid pro quo arrangement between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana, calling for scrutiny of corruption cases spanning both governments.

BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao, addressing a press conference at the party office, said the inquiry must investigate all major decisions and scams from the start of the BRS administration to the current Congress regime, now in its third year.

BJP alleges political shielding in corruption cases

Rao claimed that the BRS had earlier protected current Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the vote-for-note case. In turn, he alleged, the Congress was now shielding former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao and his associates in the Kaleshwaram project and phone-tapping controversy.

He said that while faces in government had changed, systemic corruption remained untouched. “Only contractors and ministers have changed, but the commission system remains intact,” he stated.

SITs mocked as non-functional, BJP asserts growing support

Criticising the state government’s recent SIT formations, Rao dismissed them as “publicity stunts,” pointing out that not a single member of the KCR family or top BRS leaders had been arrested.

He mocked the SIT as a “sitting investigation team” that delivered no results and accused both Congress and BRS of spreading misinformation about the BJP’s influence in Telangana.

Rao cited recent panchayat elections to argue that BJP’s grassroots support was rising. He urged voters to reject both Congress and BRS in the upcoming municipal polls.

BJP leaders Madhavi, N.V. Subhash, Venkat Reddy, Vithal, Kappara Prasad, and Sunitha were also present.
