BJP state chief to visit agriculture market yards from May 25

Hyderabad: BJP State President N Ramchander Rao will begin a three-day tour across Telangana from May 25 to meet farmers affected by delays in grain procurement by the Congress government.

Rao alleged that the State government failed to procure grains from farmers despite Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s promise to purchase every last grain produced by cultivators. He accused the Congress government of deceiving farmers and mishandling the procurement process.

According to the BJP, the party’s State chief will visit several agriculture market yards along with local MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to gather first-hand information from farmers about procurement issues. The leaders will also interact directly with farmers to understand the difficulties they are facing while selling their produce.

The tour will begin at the Tandur Agriculture Market Yard. Rao will later visit market yards in Gajwel, Bhongir, Warangal, Bhupalpally, Kataram, Manthani, and Peddapalli districts.

BJP to inspect agriculture market yards over procurement delays

As part of the schedule, N Ramchander Rao will halt at Gajwel on the first day of the tour. On May 26, he will stay overnight at Bhupalpally after completing visits to nearby market yards.

The BJP leader will conclude the tour on May 27 after visiting Manthani and Peddapalli. He is scheduled to stay in Peddapalli on the final night of the programme.

The BJP said the visit aimed to assess procurement arrangements at agriculture market yards and raise issues faced by farmers across Telangana. The party also claimed that procurement delays were causing distress among cultivators during the ongoing procurement season.
