Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy accused the BJP and BRS of spreading hate against minorities. He said both parties had conspired to stop Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin from becoming a minister. Moreover, he questioned why the two parties continued to resent minorities. He also asked whether a minority minister had no rightful place in the Telangana Cabinet.
BJP and BRS spreading hate against minorities
Reddy said both parties were deliberately dividing communities for political benefit. Furthermore, he stated that Congress had always united people of every religion since before Independence. However, the BJP, he said, was now dividing society for votes.
He further alleged that the BRS had secretly supported the BJP in the previous parliamentary elections. “Both parties worked together to ensure each other’s success,” Reddy said. In addition, he referred to recent remarks by BRS leader K. Kavitha about their mutual links.
Alleged plot against Azharuddin
The MP said the BJP filed a complaint with the Election Commission soon after Congress decided to make Azharuddin a minister. According to him, the complaint was intended to benefit the BRS politically.
Reddy also reminded that the BJP had earlier promised ministerial posts to its candidates in Rajasthan before elections. Yet, he asked, why was the same party now blocking Azharuddin’s appointment? He described the move as both hypocritical and discriminatory. Finally, he said the BJP and BRS were denying minorities fair political representation only for electoral advantage.
