Bhatti Vikramarka slams BRS at TPCC meeting, highlights Congress welfare

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday launched a sharp attack on the BRS leadership, accusing it of destroying Telangana financially and administratively.

BRS blamed for Kaleshwaram irregularities

Speaking at the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) extended executive meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, chaired by TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao pushed the state into economic crisis. He said BRS leaders had mocked Congress for raising concerns about the sinking of Medigadda barrage. He also alleged that former ministers T. Harish Rao and Santosh Rao siphoned off funds from the Kaleshwaram project. “This corruption led KCR to deny Harish Rao a cabinet berth in his second term,” he claimed.

Congress highlighting welfare and promises

The Deputy CM contrasted Congress governance with BRS rule. He pointed out that the state distributed Indiramma houses to poor families, waived farm loans soon after assuming office, and disbursed ₹9,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa within nine days. Moreover, he said Telangana was the only state in India offering such extensive farmer support. He added that the government had already spent nearly ₹1 lakh crore on welfare measures.

BC reservation and caste census

Vikramarka reminded the audience that Rahul Gandhi had promised a caste census during the elections. He stressed that the Congress government delivered on that promise in Telangana. Furthermore, he said the government introduced bills to ensure 42 percent reservation for BCs in local bodies, blaming the previous BRS government for blocking the effort. He also recalled that Congress governments had built major irrigation projects, including Ellampalli, Nettempadu, Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, and Devadula.

Party meeting attended by senior leaders

AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan attended the meeting as chief guest, along with Deputy CM Vikramarka. Senior TPCC office bearers, DCC presidents, joint district in-charges, affiliated body chairpersons, corporation heads, Jai Bapu–Jai Bhim–Jai Samvidhan coordinators, observers, and committee members also took part.
