Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stressed the need to improve power efficiency Telangana alongside increasing electricity generation. He said the cheapest unit of electricity was the one that did not need to be consumed.
At the same time, Bhatti said the state should view energy efficiency as more than simple power conservation. Instead, he described it as a key strategy to strengthen Telangana’s economic competitiveness.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister called for wider use of smart energy management systems. According to him, such measures could help curb unnecessary power wastage.
He also urged industries and other users to adopt modern technology. In addition, better standards in electricity consumption could improve efficiency across the state.
Industrialisation in Telangana would drive a sharp rise in power demand in the coming years, Bhatti said. In particular, heavy industries, global data centres and life sciences would require large quantities of reliable and quality power.
Therefore, he said efficient energy use would become increasingly important. Industries and commercial establishments should consequently adopt technologies that reduce unnecessary consumption.

Bhatti advised industries and commercial establishments to install energy-efficient motors. Similarly, he called for modern cooling systems to reduce electricity consumption significantly.
The minister said successful energy-efficiency practices and technologies already in use should reach more organisations quickly. For this reason, he called for wider adoption of proven methods across industrial and commercial sectors.
Meanwhile, smart energy management could prevent avoidable electricity wastage, he said. Modern technologies could also help users maintain better standards in power consumption.
Bhatti stressed that Telangana must prepare for rising electricity needs linked to industrial growth. However, he also called for stronger efforts to improve power efficiency Telangana as demand increases.
Finally, the Energy Minister said industries would have a major role in improving energy efficiency. He urged organisations to adopt efficient motors and advanced cooling systems as power demand increases.
