Bhatti promises scientific progress under Revanth Reddy’s government

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday announced that the Congress-led government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, will prioritise education and technology to drive scientific progress in Telangana.

He addressed the 80th Scientific Temperament Celebrations of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, hosted by Vijnana Darshini at Ravindra Bharathi.

Telangana to emerge as a science-driven state

Bhatti said the government is determined to make Telangana a centre of scientific innovation. He emphasised that every cabinet minister brings strong educational credentials and actively works to position the state on the global development map.

He credited Jawaharlal Nehru for building the foundation of democracy and scientific advancement in India. “If Nehru had not led the country, India would have lacked the vision and infrastructure necessary for growth,” he stated.

According to Bhatti, Nehru’s Five-Year Plans formulated with expert input balanced agriculture and industry through a mixed economy model. Nehru’s decision to embed socialism in the Constitution, he said, laid the path for inclusive development.

In contrast to neighbouring nations that slid into dictatorship, India sustained democratic stability through regular elections and peaceful transitions, which Bhatti attributed to Nehru’s leadership.

Education infrastructure to prepare next generation

Bhatti highlighted that the state is building one Young India Integrated Residential School in every Assembly constituency. Each school spans 25 acres and receives ₹200 crore in funding. In addition, the government is upgrading ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres to better align with evolving industry needs.

He noted that the Skill University being developed in the upcoming Future City is advancing quickly. Moreover, he encouraged schools and colleges to host science exhibitions and assured full government backing. He also assigned TRICOR Chairman Bellayya Naik to coordinate the outreach.

Concluding his address, Bhatti affirmed the government’s commitment to upholding Nehru’s legacy of democracy and scientific development in Telangana.
