Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the 20th Rozgar Mela in Hyderabad. A total of 221 candidates received appointment letters at the programme.
The Central Tax and Customs, Hyderabad Zone, organised the event at Dr. MCR HRD Institute in Jubilee Hills.
Addressing the gathering, Bandi Sanjay said the 20th Rozgar Mela was being organised at 45 locations across the country. Around 51,000 appointment letters were being distributed through the initiative, he said.
He said the programme reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to providing 10 lakh Central government jobs.
Bandi Sanjay said more than 12.75 lakh appointment letters had been issued through the first 19 Rozgar Melas held across the country.
He also referred to the government’s goal of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He said initiatives including Startup India, Make in India and various welfare programmes were creating opportunities and supporting youth employment.
Congratulating the newly appointed candidates, Bandi Sanjay described a Central government job as an important milestone for them and their families. He urged the recruits to work with dedication and contribute to nation-building.
Rozgar Mela recruits to undergo training at NACIN
Earlier, Central Tax and Customs, Hyderabad Zone Chief Commissioner Arun Kumar welcomed the gathering. He said the induction of young employees would bring fresh ideas and energy into government services.
Arun Kumar said the 221 newly appointed recruits would undergo training at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics in Hyderabad.
The training will cover GST, Customs, related laws, office procedures and practical work. Inspectors will also undergo specialised firearms training in coordination with the Telangana Police Academy.
Arun Kumar urged the recruits to follow the principle of “Citizen First, Taxpayer First, Nation First”. He asked them to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication.
He said their field-level work would contribute to the effective implementation of government policies. It would also support the goal of developing India by 2047, he added.
N.J. Kumaresh, Principal Commissioner of the Hyderabad GST Commissionerate, also attended the programme. Senior departmental officers and family members of the newly appointed candidates were present.
