Hyderabad: Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra will go ahead as scheduled despite alleged terrorist threats, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal leaders said while calling on Hindu youth across Telangana to prepare for the pilgrimage.
Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, VHP Telangana state president Narasimha Murthy and Bajrang Dal Telangana state convener Konda Srikanth said the yatra would commence on August 19.
The leaders alleged that anti-national elements were attempting to disrupt the pilgrimage route near the India-Pakistan border. However, they asserted that such efforts would not affect the conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
They said devotees from Telangana were showing interest in participating in the religious event and urged people to make preparations well in advance.
