Hyderabad: The Telangana Mineral Development Corporation (TGMDC) opened advance sand bookings for the 2026 rainy season to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality sand at affordable prices.
According to officials, the booking facility will cover the period from June to October 2026. As a result, the corporation aims to prevent shortages during the monsoon. At the same time, the move is expected to help stabilise prices in the construction sector.
Meanwhile, TGMDC opened bookings for the continuous supply of coarse sand from sand bazaars located within and around HMDA limits. These include Bowrampet in the Dundigal mandal of Medchal–Malkajgiri district. In addition, the list covers Vattinagulapalli in Gandipet mandal, Adibatla in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, and Abdullapurmet in Hayatnagar mandal of Rangareddy district.
Advance sand bookings to ensure uninterrupted monsoon supply
Further, TGMDC will accept applications for advance sand bookings from January 8 to January 18, 2026. Thereafter, the corporation will dispatch coarse sand from June through October 2026.
To strengthen supply, TGMDC will also establish additional sand stockyards near Hyderabad. These new facilities will function like existing sand bazaars. Consequently, officials assured delivery of the entire approved quantity within the stipulated period.
Under the scheme, applicants can book quantities ranging from 32 metric tonnes to 5,000 metric tonnes. Notably, TGMDC reduced the price of coarse sand to ₹1,450 per metric tonne for 2026. Earlier, the price stood at ₹1,600 per metric tonne in 2025.
Moreover, TGMDC will approve applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Each approval will remain valid for 10 days to complete payment. Subsequently, applicants can add transport vehicles from June 2026 through bulk login accounts.
Finally, TGMDC officials reiterated the corporation’s commitment to transparency, affordability, and uninterrupted sand supply during the rainy season.
