Water supply to be disrupted in several Hyderabad areas today

Hyderabad: Water supply will be disrupted in several parts of Hyderabad due to emergency repair works on the Phase-3 main pipeline of the Singur Project, which supplies drinking water to the city.

Officials identified a major leakage in the main pipeline and decided to take up urgent repairs. At the same time, TS Transco scheduled routine maintenance works. Therefore, authorities planned a temporary shutdown to prevent further damage and ensure safe restoration.

The repair and maintenance works will continue until 8 pm today. As a result, officials said the water supply would remain disrupted for nearly 12 hours in the affected areas. Supply will resume immediately after the completion of works, according to officials.

Water supply disruption to affect multiple divisions

The water supply disruption will affect Division 6 areas, including Banjara Hills, Somajiguda, Venkatagiri, Yellareddyguda, Erragadda and SPR Hills. In Division 9, localities such as Kukatpally Housing Board, Borabanda, Gayatri Nagar, Moosapet and Bharat Nagar will face interrupted water supply.

Officials said Division 15 areas, including Kondapur, Doyens Colony and Madhapur, will also remain affected. Gopal Nagar under Division 17 and Tellapur in Division 22 will face the disruption during the repair period.

Water board officials advised residents in the affected localities to store and use water supply sparingly until normal services resume. They said the emergency repairs were essential to avoid larger disruptions and stabilise the drinking water network.
