Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday announced that the state government would seek an exclusive Ramagundam urea allocation for Telangana from the Centre.
He said the government would write to the Union government requesting that the entire urea output from the Ramagundam Fertilizers Factory be earmarked for Telangana.
The Chief Minister made the announcement during a review meeting at the Secretariat on monsoon preparedness.
Senior officials from Agriculture, Irrigation, Urban Development, Panchayat Raj, Health, Home, Hydrology, Disaster Management and Fire Services departments attended the meeting.
Ramagundam urea allocation discussed during monsoon review
During the meeting, officials from the Meteorological Department presented rainfall forecasts related to the Southwest Monsoon.
They also explained the impact of El Niño and other weather-related factors.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy directed officials to create awareness among farmers about possible drought-like conditions.
Furthermore, he stressed the need to educate farmers about crops that require less water.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of crop rotation and crop diversification to reduce risks during adverse weather conditions.
Additionally, he underlined the need for close coordination between district collectors and superintendents of police.
According to him, regular meetings should be held to address public grievances and ensure effective governance.
He also instructed officials within the CURE jurisdiction to strengthen coordination among civic and police authorities.
The Chief Minister said commissioners of the three corporations and police commissioners should work together to ensure smooth implementation of government programmes.
