Hyderabad: Telangana is not waiting for the future but actively building it, said IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. He noted that all major policy decisions by the state are aligned with the long-term aspirations of future generations.
The Minister invoked the image of a phoenix to symbolise the state’s vision. He said the Telangana Rising initiative aims to position the state as a global hub for innovation, talent, sustainability, and investment. Amid rapid global shifts and climate uncertainty, Telangana is committed to turning challenges into growth opportunities.
Telangana growth outpaces national averages
Sridhar Babu said the state aims to significantly contribute to India’s $3-trillion economic goal by 2047. Telangana, despite its smaller size, already accounts for nearly 5% of India’s GDP. He cited official data showing the state’s GSDP growth reached 10.1% in 2024–25, outpacing the national average of 9.9%.
He said Telangana’s per-capita income had touched ₹3.79 lakh 1.8 times higher than the national average. The industrial and manufacturing sectors saw a growth of 7.6%, while the services sector grew at 11.9%. Both figures exceeded national benchmarks. The Industrial GSVA rose from ₹2.46 lakh crore to ₹2.77 lakh crore, a 12.6% increase.
Growth in subsectors such as construction, mining, utilities, and energy also surpassed national averages, reflecting the government’s focus on industrial capacity.
Innovation and transformation: Telangana’s future blueprint
The Minister highlighted Telangana’s rapid tech adoption, pointing to a village in Manthani that recently became the country’s first AI-powered village. He called it a model for “Tomorrow’s Telangana.”
He also outlined upcoming initiatives, including Bharat Future City, Telangana AI Innovation Hub, the TGDeX data platform, AI and Skill Universities, AI-integrated curricula, and the OneBio Life Sciences Hub. A Centre of Excellence in Quantum Technology is also in the pipeline.
“These steps will define Telangana’s economic and technological future,” Sridhar Babu said, calling on global industry leaders to collaborate with the state.
“We invite the world to join hands with Telangana in building a future that promises prosperity for the next generation,” he concluded.
