Telangana aims to be national model in digital governance

Hyderabad: Telangana aims to become a national leader in people-focused digital governance, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said on Tuesday while launching WhatsApp-based MeeSeva services in Hyderabad.

Speaking at a programme in Banjara Hills, the Minister explained that the government is shifting public service delivery to a mobile-first, AI-driven model. This model, he said, encourages citizen participation and simplifies access to government services.

He stressed the need to move governance beyond closed offices. “It must be transparent, inclusive, and directly available to people through technology,” he said.

Sridhar Babu added that Telangana’s digital initiatives aim to reach even the most remote and underserved regions. To build a future-ready workforce, the government also plans to train 10 lakh youth every year in Artificial Intelligence. This will help align local talent with emerging global opportunities.

Telangana expands MeeSeva, plans inclusive tech features

The newly introduced WhatsApp-based MeeSeva platform is part of a wider push to increase access to government services. According to the Minister, new features will soon include voice-command support and local language options in Telugu and Urdu. These upgrades are designed to make the system more inclusive for all citizens.

He also highlighted several other flagship projects TGDeX, AI City, AI University, and the Telangana Innovation Hub. These platforms, he noted, are helping the State set new standards in digital governance. As a result, other States are beginning to explore similar models for their own service delivery.

Moreover, Sridhar Babu said Telangana views technology not just as infrastructure, but as a tool for social equity. “We are committed to ensuring that even the last citizen can benefit from digital services,” he said.

The State plans to expand MeeSeva integration across more departments in the coming months. By doing so, Telangana hopes to make governance more responsive, citizen-driven, and future-ready.
