Revenue reforms to deliver faster, transparent services: Ponguleti

Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday said the Telangana government is carrying out major reforms to make revenue services faster, more transparent, and citizen-focused.

During a review meeting, he announced the consolidation of 39 sub-registrar offices within the Outer Ring Road into 11 integrated clusters. Private firms are handling construction at no cost to the government. Additionally, these firms will maintain the buildings for five years.

Integrated offices and digital systems to boost service delivery

Each new facility will include mini marriage halls and designated areas for pregnant people and older residents. These buildings will also feature crèches, feeding rooms, and lifts for improved accessibility.

Ponguleti said similar complexes will be set up at district headquarters in the next phase. He noted that work on the Talim office is nearing completion and the facility will open to the public by June 2. The government has already laid foundations for buildings in Medchal. Moreover, it will launch a new project near the Patancheru–Shankarpally road on Wednesday.

In addition to infrastructure, the Minister stressed the impact of digital reforms. He said tools like slot booking and e-Aadhaar verification in the Stamps and Registration Department have reduced delays and improved service quality.

“These reforms go beyond infrastructure,” Ponguleti said. “They aim to improve people’s lives through efficient systems.”

Turning to journalist welfare, the Minister said the government revised accreditation guidelines after consulting with journalist bodies. Several representatives who met him at the Secretariat thanked him for addressing their concerns.

Ponguleti assured that the government will continue to make fair and transparent decisions that serve the public interest.
