Telangana government prepares to launch Bima Padhakam

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is preparing to launch the Indiramma Kutumba Jeevitha Bima Padhakam, a universal life insurance programme aimed at providing Rs 5 lakh insurance coverage to every household in the state.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the government to convene an emergency meeting of a Cabinet Sub-Committee on Tuesday evening to finalise the implementation process for the Bima Padhakam scheme.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu will chair the meeting. Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy will participate as members of the committee.

Bima Padhakam implementation under review

The Cabinet Sub-Committee will discuss the implementation framework with officials and stakeholders connected to the scheme. The government expects to finalise operational modalities for smooth implementation during the meeting.
Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu handles the Finance and Planning and Energy portfolios. Uttam Kumar Reddy oversees Irrigation, Food and Civil Supplies, while Sridhar Babu manages IT, Industries and Legislative Affairs departments. Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy heads the Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations departments.
The committee will meet at 5 pm on Tuesday to review arrangements for rolling out the insurance programme across Telangana.
