HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government has announced the transfer of management responsibilities for the Neera Cafe, located at Tank Bund People’s Plaza, to the Kallugeeta Industrial Corporation. An official government order (GO) was issued on Tuesday formalizing this decision. The move is part of the government’s initiative to support and promote the toddy tapping community.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and MLC, TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, played pivotal roles in facilitating this transfer. Nagaraju Goud, President of the Kallugeeta Division, expressed gratitude towards them for their support.
Prior to this transfer, the government conducted consultations with the Excise and Tourism Departments. As the land housing Neera Cafe belongs to the Tourism Department, the new arrangement stipulates that 30% of the revenue generated by the cafe will be allocated to the Tourism Department. The remaining revenue will be utilized by the Kallugeeta Industrial Corporation for the welfare and development of the toddy tapping community. The government has directed officials from the BC Welfare Department, Tourism Department, and the Kallugeeta Industrial Corporation to implement the necessary measures to effect this transition.
