Hyderabad: The Telangana Government signed agreements with Raheja Group, Ramky Foundation and Yashoda Foundation for the development of government school infrastructure across the state under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy attended the agreement signing programme at the Secretariat. Meanwhile, the School Education Department entered into separate agreements with the three organisations for the upgradation of educational institutions.
Representatives Neel Raheja, Alla Dakshayani and Gorukanti Devender Rao handed over the agreement documents to the Chief Minister during the programme.
Under the initiative, Ramky Foundation will contribute Rs 19.66 crore for the construction of an integrated educational campus at Jawahar Nagar in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The project will include facilities from pre-primary to intermediate level.
In addition, the Foundation will provide Rs 10.4 crore for the upgradation of Zilla Parishad High School at Thukkuguda in Maheshwaram mandal of Rangareddy district. The project will support infrastructure development from pre-primary to Class V and intermediate education.
Government school infrastructure projects receive CSR support
K Raheja Group will invest Rs 50.50 crore for government school infrastructure development at Kondapur in Rangareddy district. The project will include facilities from pre-primary to intermediate level.
Meanwhile, Yashoda Foundation will contribute Rs 12.20 crore for infrastructure development at MPPS Subhash Nagar in Uppal. The project will cover facilities for pre-primary, Class VI and Class VII students.
Officials said Ramky Foundation’s contribution represented 40 per cent of the total project cost at Jawahar Nagar. Similarly, the Foundation will bear 40 per cent of the expenditure for the Thukkuguda project.
School Education Secretary Yogita Rana attended the programme. Commissioner of Technical Education Devasena and Chief Minister’s Special Secretary Ajit Reddy were also present.
In addition, Indian Green Building Council Chairman C. Shekhar Reddy and other officials participated in the event.
