Hyderabad: Telangana Congress will launch its statewide Janahita padayatra on August 24, starting from Upparamalyala village in Gangadhara mandal, Choppadandi constituency. TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan will lead the march.
Telangana Congress Janahita padayatra to assess welfare delivery and engage communities
At a press meet held in the Karimnagar DCC office, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that the Telangana Congress Janahita padayatra would cover one assembly constituency per district in its initial phase. The march aims to directly engage with citizens and evaluate how government welfare schemes have impacted them.
The padayatra will proceed from Upparamalyala via Kurkyala crossroads and end at Gangadhara. Congress MLAs Medipalli Satyam and Makan Singh Raj Thakur, along with other senior leaders, will walk with the team.
Ponnam Prabhakar appealed to Congress cadres, allied organisations, and supporters to treat this as a district-wide effort. According to him, the yatra will allow the party to gather firsthand feedback on 19 months of welfare governance.
On August 25, the second day of the march, Mahesh Kumar Goud and Meenakshi Natarajan will take part in a community service and tree-planting event at a local government school. Later, they will hold an interaction with district-level party functionaries.
Moreover, the two leaders will meet women beneficiaries of interest-free loan schemes, RTC bus and solar unit ownership programmes, and Indira Canteens. Karimnagar, Ponnam noted, has earned a reputation for its dynamic women’s groups.
Rajender Rao, Padmakar Reddy, and Anjan Kumar Bhaskar Reddy will coordinate the August 24 programme. Makan Singh Raj Thakur will oversee the state-level effort, while MLA Medipalli Satyam will manage arrangements within Choppadandi.
